TERS, Inc. Restores NYC Art Gallery After Sewage Flood

After a severe art gallery flood, NY restoration company Total Environmental Restoration Solutions, Inc. (TERS) sent its restoration teams to perform emergency water damage restoration.

The 4,000-square-foot art gallery’s sewer system malfunctioned, releasing copious amounts of water into the facility. The gallery was left with two feet of water on the premises and in dire need of professional flood drying and mold removal.

With two feet of water and sediments, TERS arranged a six-day mitigation and restoration plan. TERS teams removed all affected materials, dried the premises with its portable drying devices, sanitized, filtered the air, and stopped mold growth in the indoor environment.

"Mold grows very quickly in moist environments, and thousands of dollars of art was at stake," says Gary (Gadi) Shaked, president of TERS. "To ensure prevention of further damage, my teams moved quickly to remove the moisture and any mold that had already developed."

All restoration was done without affecting any artwork. The art was taken down by the gallery staff and safely rehung post-restoration. The gallery was able to return to regular business after 10 days.

The team monitored the area’s air quality and conditions to ensure building occupant safety, as well as used thermal imaging for moisture readings to ensure that everything in the gallery is back to its original state.

With its water damage restoration services, TERS offers artwork restoration, document restoration, electronics restoration, deodorization, and mold removal. All aspects of each project are completed by fully-trained professionals.
