Nicholas Post, MD, FACS

Dr. Post is the Director of Neurosurgical Trauma at NYU-Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn. He is a board-certified neurosurgeon and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

After graduating from Columbia University Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude with a BA in Biochemistry, Dr. Post attended the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his residency at New York University, where he also pursued a subsequent fellowship focusing on Complex Spinal Disorders. Following his training, Dr. Post became Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery at SUNY Downstate, where he was also Director of Neuro-Oncology and Peripheral Nerve Surgery.

Dr. Post is widely published, and is a perennial presenter of important neurosurgical research at professional meetings across the country. His extensive publication and presentation résumé reflects a commitment to the evidence-based neurosurgical practice grounded in cutting-edge technologies, procedures and therapies. In recognition of this commitment, Dr. Post was a recipient of AANS/CNS Joint Section on Disorders of the Spine and Peripheral Nerves Mayfield Award for Outstanding Clinical Manuscript.

The surgical interests of Dr. Post in spine neurosurgery include scoliosis and adult spinal deformity, degenerative spinal disorders, and tumors involving of the spinal column and spinal cord. Dr. Post also specializes in cerebrovascular disorders including aneurysms and AVMs (arteriovenous malformations), as well as skull base surgeries, including acoustic neuromas, meningiomas, and pituitary tumors. He also has extensive experience in the surgical treatment of trigeminal neuralgia.

While Dr. Post is based in Brooklyn, he has a busy practice both in Manhattan and at St. Francis on Long Island. He is an active member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurosurgeons and the American Medical Association.
